Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+
The Galaxy Tab S12+ pairs a bright 120Hz AMOLED screen, an S Pen, IP68 protection and seven years of OS updates in a very slim body, but its €1,330 price demands commitment.
Pros
- + Bright, high-refresh 12.6-inch AMOLED display with HDR10+
- + Very slim 5.3mm, roughly 553g design
- + Strong benchmark scores from the Dimensity 9500 with 12GB RAM
- + Up to seven major OS updates
- + IP68 water resistance, rare on tablets
- + S Pen support with magnetic docking
- + microSDXC expansion and an optional 5G model
Cons
- − €1,330 price is steep
- − Basic camera setup with a single rear lens
- − No verified real-world battery life or thermal data yet
On paper, the Galaxy Tab S12+ is a premium Android tablet with few obvious gaps. The 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel combines a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and up to 1600 nits peak brightness. That is the kind of screen that makes streaming, reading and sketching feel high-end. At 5.3mm thick and around 553g, it is also notably slim for a tablet this size, which should make it easier to carry than its screen size suggests.
It is aimed at buyers who want one big-screen device for media, note-taking and light-to-heavy productivity. Students, creatives and mobile professionals already in Samsung's ecosystem are the clearest fit. The S Pen support and magnetic docking help the note-takers and sketchers. IP68 protection adds peace of mind for anyone who uses a tablet outside a desk setting.
This is a strong showing in almost every category we can assess from the verified data.
- Performance: The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. NanoReview's listing shows strong benchmark results (3304 single-core and 10143 multi-core in Geekbench 6, and around 3.79 million in AnTuTu 11). Those are listing figures rather than our own testing, but they suggest plenty of headroom for demanding apps and multitasking.
- Longevity: Up to seven major OS updates, starting from Android 17 and One UI 9, is a genuine selling point. It goes a long way toward justifying the price over the life of the device.
- Battery and charging: A 10600 mAh battery with 45W wired charging is a sensible pairing for a large screen. We cannot speak to real-world endurance without test data.
- Practicality: microSDXC expansion, USB Type-C 3.2, Wi-Fi 6e and an optional 5G variant make it flexible. IP68 is still uncommon on tablets.
The main reservation is cost. At €1,330, this sits firmly in premium territory, and buyers who just want a media tablet can likely spend far less. The cameras are a single 13MP rear unit and a 12MP ultrawide front camera. That is adequate for a tablet, though not a reason to buy one.
We would also note that our assessment rests on specs, listings and third-party claims rather than hands-on testing of battery life, display calibration or thermal behaviour under sustained load. Within those limits, it earns a high rating that stops short of perfect because of the price.
