Launch Date Confirmed
OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus 16 will launch in China on October 12. The date was revealed at the 2026 OnePlus Gaming Conference in China and confirmed on Weibo. The venue suggests how OnePlus is pitching its next flagship: as a phone aimed squarely at mobile gamers.
Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6
The OnePlus 16 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. OnePlus is also adding dedicated custom chips alongside the main processor to improve gaming performance. Each one handles a specific job:
- Display
- Touch response
- Wi-Fi connectivity

A Display Built for Gaming
The OnePlus 16's screen has a 185Hz refresh rate. The phone supports native 185fps gaming in several titles:
- Arena Breakout
- Nizhan: Future
- Naruto Mobile
- Peace Elite
Outside of those games, the phone reportedly supports a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate. That would bring high-refresh smoothness to everyday use as well as gaming.
Camera Setup
The OnePlus 16 also has serious camera hardware. Here is the rear setup:
- Main camera: 200MP
- Telephoto: 50MP periscope with 3x zoom
- Ultrawide: 50MP (reported)
On the software side, the phone reportedly includes an XPAN-style mode and a Master Mode. These give photographers more creative options.
Colors and Availability
The OnePlus 16 will reportedly come in three color options. However, the phone reportedly will not be sold in Europe or the US. Buyers in those regions who want one will need to import it.
